I am a Scottish Filipino photographer and visual artist based in Edinburgh. My work tends to focus on commenting on the world around us; the way we interact and treat our land. I am in my final year of studying my BA in Photography at Edinburgh Napier University, boasting so far two exhibitions in Edinburgh, and an upcoming one at Free Range in London.

I created this series of images and writing inspired by the recent surge of internet phrases surrounding girlhood. ‘I am just a girl’ features personal experiences and aspects of growing up as a girl and accepting these moving into my twenties and letting go of my childhood and teenage years. Growing up, I always felt alone in my experiences – whether this be my anxious overthinking and yearning over things I wish I could return to, or the unfortunate experience of an eating disorder; but as I’ve gotten older I’ve realized how common these are in all the women I’m surrounded by, and the way we bond about it now makes me appreciate our girlhood and the way we connect in our unfortunateness. In ‘I am just a girl’, I feature an array of landscapes exploring my emotions, self portraiture, polaroids, portraits of women I know, and personal handwritten notes.
During my third year at university, I had the opportunity to undertake a placement with the Water of Leith Conservation Trust. This group of volunteers would meet on a weekly basis to keep the walkways tidy, pick rubbish out of the river, clean up graffiti, and deal with invasive giant hogweed plants. I captured these efforts, and these images were used on their social medias. I also worked on photographing the change of the seasons along the walkway, from winter into spring.
‘A Change in Landscape’ explores the fear of urban sprawl into green spaces, featuring photos from my family archive from 2000 – 2009, and comparing them to photos taken in 2023, emphasising the difference new builds make when invading into the countryside. My parents bought a cottage in the early 2000s in the quiet countryside of South Scotland; they spent the good part of 17 years renovating it in their spare time into their perfect home where they raised my brother and I. In the quick span of a few years, the field next to us was sold and turned into 3 new houses specially designed from scratch for the upper class, quickly ruining the illusion of tranquility my parents once uphold. My aim was to show the contrast between the ‘before and after’, and the fear urban sprawl has brought upon my quiet street.
